Call for reviewers is now closed Call for reviewers - 18th Nordic Midwifery Congress 2010Reviewers will each receive up to 10 submissions (max 1 page each) by November 1st 2009 and must return their evaluations by November 21th 2009. Guidelines for the reviewprocess will be issued by the Nordic Midwifery Congress’ Scientific Committee. As with the submission of abstracts both signing up to serve as reviewer and the review process will be managed on the web. Signing up for serving as a reviewer opens May 1st 2009 and closes August 25th 2009 — please follow the instructions below. The Scientific Committee will put the needed group of reviewers together in August and all applicants will know whether their services are needed before September 1st 2009. The names of the reviewers will be printed in a separate section of the Congress program. Reviewers with many different kinds of competences are needed, as submissions of abstracts for the congress can be made for six different kinds of presentation forms.Reviewers are devided indto 4 main categories: 1) Daily life as a midwife2) Research and development studies3) Education within midwifery4) Undergraduate projects in midwifery Categories and tracks are as follows:Category 1) Daily life as a midwifeTracks:A. Presentation of practice environmentB. StorytellingRequired competences: Education as a midwifeProfessional curiosityOpen-mindedness towards different ways of practicing midwifery and different practice environments Eye for a good story — for original, important and maybe colourful tales of midwifery Category 2) Research and development studies within the field of midwifery Tracks:A. Philosophical / theoretical perspectives on midwiferyB. Qualitative researchC. Quantitative researchD. Mixed designs/methodsE. Development studies Required competences: Education as a midwifePost graduate education at master level of science (at minimum) Track record of research within the field of midwifery / women’s health Peer reviewed research publications — or alternatively other qualifications relevant to reviewing Category 3) Education within midwifery Tracks:A. Clinical issues of teaching / learning in midwiferyB. Theoretical issues of teaching / learning in midwifery Required competences: Education as a midwifePost graduate education: master level of science at minimum Academic publication (also master or Ph.D. thesis) Teaching experience Category 4) Undergraduate projects in midwifery Tracks:A. Undergraduate projects in midwifery (Bachelor of Science level at minimum).
